How do you make sure your ceiling fittings are secure?

The ceiling fittings required will depend on your chosen location, the weight of what you want to hang and of course, your ceiling type.

Handy weights to know
Monstera Hanging Rack including chains weighs 4kg. Depending on your choice of planters and plants, allow up to 2kg* per plant when wet, up to 5 plants (so plus 10kgs). Total estimated weight 14 kgs across 2 suspension points
Monstera Hanging Tray including chains weighs 1.4kgs plus your chosen plant and planter (allow 2kg*). Total estimated weight is 3.4 kg from a single suspension point.
Single hangers including chains weighs 400gms. Add an estimated 2kg* depending on your plant and planter gives you a total estimated weight of 2.4kg from a single suspension point.
* Be conservative and check the weight of your planter (terracotta or ceramic is heavier) plus your plant and remember it will be heavier when watered. Many will be less than our estimate of 2kg but some may be more.
